Including the prenatal anomaly test, the 'NIPT test'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, operates the "Visiting Obstetrics and Gynecology" service 50 times a year, starting from Uiryeong-eup in January and extending to the myeon areas, to promote women's health.
Through the Visiting Obstetrics and Gynecology service, the county provides not only basic prenatal checkups for pregnant women but also basic examinations for women of childbearing age (including lower abdominal ultrasound, urine and blood tests, kidney, liver, thyroid function tests, and immunoserology tests), examinations for non-childbearing women, and free spouse examinations for women of childbearing age.
Additionally, starting this year, a high-cost prenatal chromosomal abnormality test called the 'NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing)' will be offered to high-risk pregnant women.
Detailed schedules and locations for the Visiting Obstetrics and Gynecology service by region can be found on the Uiryeong-gun Public Health Center website. For other inquiries, please contact the Maternal and Child Health department of the health center.
A health center official stated, "Uiryeong-gun not only operates the Visiting Obstetrics and Gynecology service but also provides various support programs such as assistance for infertile couples, maternity helpers, and postpartum care center fees," and added, "Please visit the health center anytime for a healthy pregnancy and childbirth."
