On the 13th, according to the Gwangju City Council, the council members collected 5 million won in donations and delivered it to T?rkiye and Syria through the Gwangju International Exchange Center.
It is known that 23 Gwangju city council members contributed their own money little by little to raise the donation fund.
The donations will be used to provide drinking water and food for the affected displaced people, support daily necessities and heating supplies, aid children victims, and offer medical and health support for rescue and treatment.
Chairman Jeong Muchang expressed, “We extend our deepest condolences to the people of T?rkiye and Syria who are in great shock and sorrow due to the sudden earthquake,” and added, “We hope that rescue and recovery efforts proceed smoothly and that they can return to peaceful daily life as soon as possible.”
