[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] GS Group announced on the 13th that it has donated $500,000 in relief funds to the Korean Red Cross to help T?rkiye, which suffered great damage from the earthquake.
The funds will be used for procuring and delivering relief supplies and conducting relief activities in T?rkiye, where the death toll has exceeded 30,000, and other affected areas.
A GS representative said, "We console the pain of the people of T?rkiye and Syria, who suffered tremendous damage from the unexpected large earthquake," adding, "We hope this small help will aid those going through great difficulties and that the affected areas will be restored quickly."
As a member of the international community, GS Group has previously supported relief funds during the 2005 Hurricane Katrina in the United States, the 2008 Sichuan earthquake in China, the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, the 2013 typhoon in the Philippines, and the 2018 earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia.
