[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is taking the unavoidable shortening of intercity bus route 9403 as an opportunity to newly adjust the route, enhancing transportation convenience for local residents.

After continuous consultations with Seoul City, the district has adjusted route 9403 to pass through Junggok Station direction, starting operation from the first bus on the 13th. The route runs from Gumi-dong, Seongnam City, passing through Songpa-gu and Gwangjin-gu, to Sindang-dong, Jung-gu.

Seoul City established new routes for intercity buses in other areas to alleviate passenger inconvenience caused by the ban on standing passengers on intercity buses. As a result, it was decided that route 9403 would no longer operate toward Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station.

Upon hearing this, the district attempted continuous negotiations with Seoul City to add a new route for areas like Junggok-dong, where public transportation was inconvenient. There was no bus route between Junggok Station and Gunja Station, causing various inconveniences for local residents.

After going through procedures such as gathering residents’ opinions, the district succeeded in adjusting route 9403 to pass through the Junggok Station area. According to the changed route, instead of operating toward Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station, it now passes through Junggok Station area.

As a result, the bus will stop at a total of 21 stops in Gwangjin-gu. Among them, 16 stops are newly added due to this route adjustment.

Specifically, new stops include ‘Children’s Grand Park Back Gate → Junggok-dong Entrance → Sinseong Market → Junggok-dong Terminal → Daewon High School Front → Yongamsa Entrance → Junggok Station · National Mental Health Center → Comprehensive Medical Complex → Junggok-dong Catholic Church → Junggok 2-dong Community Center Front → Neungdong Intersection · Gunja Station → Neungdong Church Front → Children’s Grand Park Front · Sejong University → Children’s Grand Park Station Exit 3 → Children’s Hall → Guui Intersection · Gwangjin Fire Station Front’.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We took the shortening of route 9403 as an opportunity to promote route adjustment to improve public transportation convenience for residents. We will do our best to minimize confusion among passengers due to the route change and ensure smooth operation.”
