Damyang-gun Achieves 'Great Success' as the Most Selected in Provincial Social Innovation Contest Projects

Providing Opportunities for Community Problem Solving Focused on Private Sector and Fieldwork


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Chunsu Kim] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 10th that three projects were finally selected in the ‘2023 Jeollanam-do Social Innovation Public Contest’ hosted by Jeollanam-do, securing a total project budget of 45 million KRW.


The ‘2023 Jeollanam-do Social Innovation Public Contest’ is a project that supports regional innovation activities in which residents and local communities solve regional issues related to the lives of residents by themselves.

Damyang-gun Achieves 'Great Success' as the Most Selected in Provincial Social Innovation Contest Projects

Jeollanam-do started accepting applications from cities and counties in the province in January, and after the first document screening and the second presentation evaluation in February, a total of 28 projects were selected as recipients.


Damyang-gun applied for three projects, all of which were adopted, achieving the highest number of selections in the province.


The selected projects are ▲ ‘Salmanhan Baekdong LH2yagi’ (Damyang-eup Community Security Council), a customized welfare project such as sharing side dishes for single-person households within the complex ▲ ‘Our House Has Changed’ (Damyang-eup 220 Volunteer Society), a customized home repair project to improve deteriorated residential environments ▲ ‘Wise School Life Changheung School Edition’ (Changpyeong-myeon Residents’ Autonomy Committee), an activation project for operating Changheung School including an childcare program.


County Governor Byeongno Lee said, “By being selected for the public contest, opportunities for residents to participate in solving community problems have expanded,” and added, “We will continue to realize a new Damyang through innovative county administration that involves and communicates with residents.”
