At 12:30 PM on the 14th in the hospital auditorium
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital is attracting attention by holding a meaningful concert that heals the bodies and minds of patients and their guardians.
Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital announced on the 10th that it will hold the first ‘Ewha Healing Concert’ of the year at 12:30 PM on the 14th in the hospital auditorium.
Baritone Professor Bang Daejin of Chonnam National University and his students, sopranos Yang Jiho, Lee Sea, Lee Yeonwoo, In Seoyeon, Jang Jiyoung, and pianist Lee Junyoung will perform.
The name ‘Ewha Healing Concert’ signifies that it is held every second Tuesday of the month.
The deeper meaning combines ‘E’ from the phrase meaning ‘so good’ and ‘Hwa’ from Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital. The Ewha Healing Concert was initiated by the donation of a Steinway-Boston piano to Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital by Choi Hyunman, chairman of Mirae Asset Securities, in December last year.
The Ewha Concert was prepared with the hope that through various performances and songs, hope would take root in patients and their guardians.
It aims to gift patients and guardians warm memories rather than the pain of treatment through music.
This aligns with the core values of Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital: a beautiful hospital that heals patients’ bodies and minds, and a patient-centered hospital that prioritizes patient safety and satisfaction.
The songs to be performed at this healing concert include ‘When Spring Comes,’ ‘To the Land of Hope,’ ‘Though Life Deceives You,’ ‘The Day Flowers Bloom,’ and ‘Wish.’
Professor Bang will present beautiful melodies to patients, guardians, and staff through his singing. He will also convey a message to transform the heavy burdens of today into joy and gratitude by sharing stories of health and happiness along with the songs.
Professor Bang graduated top of his class in vocal performance from Seoul National University College of Music and earned a master’s degree in vocal performance from the Paris Conservatory of Music. He served as a lifetime member of the Paris National Opera and currently serves as a director of the Korea Vocal Artists Association while working as an associate professor in the Department of Music Education at Chonnam National University College of Education.
