Woo Sang-ho "Na Kyung-won holding hands with Kim Ki-hyun 'wide open', looks insincere"

"Kim Ki-hyun and Ahn Cheol-soo, Either Way Favorable to the Democratic Party"

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] Woo Sang-ho, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, commented on former lawmaker Na Kyung-won holding hands with Kim Ki-hyun of the People Power Party, saying, "After being beaten like that, what good is there in holding on like that? I really thought it was heartless."

On the 10th, Woo appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and said, "While one can politically overcome personal feelings for party unity, given that she was beaten and decided not to run in the party convention, there was no need to go that far," adding, "Former lawmaker Na looks very pitiful."

He also criticized Na's declaration not to run in the party convention as abnormal. Woo said, "As a future leader, former lawmaker Na has lost her qualifications as a leader," and added, "It's unheard of for a second-place candidate to withdraw under pressure. I don't know the reasons, but it's not a very normal choice."

Woo viewed Na's meeting with candidate Kim and publicly sharing photos of them holding hands and smiling as a declaration of support. He said, "It would be good to help and show such appearances after becoming the party's candidate in the official election, but during the primary, inducing those who supported her to support candidate Kim is hard to understand."

Regarding the People Power Party's leadership election, he said, "From the Democratic Party's perspective, it's a favorable situation whether candidate Kim or candidate Ahn Cheol-soo wins." Woo explained, "If candidate Ahn becomes party leader, it seems President Yoon Seok-youl's intentions are thwarted, which creates some conflict that is advantageous to the Democratic Party. If candidate Kim wins, President Yoon's intentions are realized, but since Kim's appeal is weak in the general election, the Democratic Party gains an advantage in the general election."

Meanwhile, the People Power Party's March 8 leadership election management committee announced that among the six candidates for party leader, Kim Ki-hyun, Ahn Cheol-soo, Chun Ha-ram, and Hwang Kyo-ahn advanced to the main election.
