Search and Seizure of Plastic Surgery Clinics in Gangnam and Yongsan Areas on the 8th and 9th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] It has been confirmed that the police investigating actor Yoo Ah-in's (37) illegal propofol use have conducted a search and seizure at plastic surgery clinics in Seoul.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit conducted search and seizure operations over two days, from the 8th to the 9th of this month, at multiple hospitals and clinics, including plastic surgery clinics in Gangnam-gu and Yongsan-gu, securing related medical records.
Yoo is suspected of habitually receiving and using propofol for non-medical purposes by visiting multiple hospitals. Previously, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety identified a total of 51 people, including Yoo, who abused propofol and requested a police investigation.
The police have banned Yoo from leaving the country and reportedly summoned him as a suspect for questioning on the 5th of this month. Currently, the police have collected samples such as Yoo's hair and requested analysis from the National Forensic Service.
Meanwhile, Yoo's agency UAA released a statement yesterday saying, "Yoo Ah-in recently underwent police questioning related to propofol," and added, "He is actively cooperating with all investigations and plans to actively clarify any problematic aspects."
