"Fear of Escape and Evidence Tampering"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The personal secretary who helped former Ssangbangwool Chairman Kim Sung-tae flee overseas has been arrested.
On the 9th, Judge Park Jeong-ho, head of the warrant division at Suwon District Court, issued an arrest warrant for Park on charges of aiding a criminal, stating that "the criminal charges are substantiated and there is a risk of flight and evidence tampering."
Park was previously arrested near the border by local police in Cambodia while attempting to flee there after former Chairman Kim and current Ssangbangwool Chairman Yang Seon-gil were apprehended at a golf course in Pathum Thani, Thailand, on the 10th of last month. At the time of his arrest, Park was found in possession of several mobile phones used by former Chairman Kim.
The prosecution is currently conducting digital forensic work after seizing Park's mobile phones and other devices.
