[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Doo-yeol] The startup preparation team 'Kkogikkogi,' composed of students from Gyeongnam Information University (President Kim Dae-sik), recently won the Excellence Award in the 'Seed up in Busan' program, a shared collaboration program among five specialized colleges in the Busan area.
The Kkogikkogi team included students Kim Jae-hee, Park Hee-seon, Oh Tae-rin, Jung Na-young, Kim Bo-kyung, and Jung Ji-woo from the Visual Design Department.
The team drew inspiration from Hoe, a representative local delicacy of Busan. Many tourists visiting Busan go to raw fish restaurants but face difficulties choosing from numerous fish species. To resolve this, they developed the 'Kkogikkogi' platform, which allows anyone to easily identify types of live fish through infographics.
This platform enables tourists visiting tourist spots and raw fish restaurants to scan the QR code displayed on the graphic of the fish species and immediately access related information.
Additionally, explanations about the fish species and especially the texture of each part are expressed graphically, so that tourists visiting Busan for the first time can enjoy Hoe without difficulty.
Professor Choi Dong-cheol, advisor of the Visual Design Department at Gyeongnam Information University, said, "It seems the students demonstrated creativity by developing a product essential for Busan," and added, "We will continue to guide students so they can freely propose ideas that are truly needed in the region."
The 'Seed up in Busan' program is a regionally tailored project that selects highly feasible capstone design items from Busan specialized colleges and supports their commercialization.
