This project was carried out with a budget of 100 million KRW and design support through the living environment improvement project supported by the Financial Industry Public Interest Foundation (CEO Cho Dae-yeop) and the Korea Association of Welfare Facilities for the Disabled (President Jeong Seok-wang).
Through a design reflecting the characteristics of disabilities, the typical corridor-style communal living structure of the disabled residential facility was changed to a "ㅁ-shaped structure," transforming it into a space where residents can comfortably achieve psychological stability with a home-like atmosphere and the creation of individual spaces.
Choo Won-seo, Standing Director of the Financial Industry Public Interest Foundation, said, “We thank the local community and facility officials who have worked hard for the human rights of persons with disabilities,” and added, “We hope that the improvement of residential environments prioritizing human rights and safety will establish itself as an important practical social welfare model that can realize the universal value of disabled residential facilities.”
Jeong Seok-wang, President of the Korea Association of Welfare Facilities for the Disabled, said, “I am sincerely pleased that through meaningful projects focused on selection and concentration, the residents of Pyeonhan Sesang can live more cozy and comfortable lives.”
Ha Song-beom, Director of Pyeonhan Sesang, responded, “I thank the sponsors and volunteers who have helped, and I will do my best so that the residents with disabilities can fully enjoy rest and happiness in a comfortable space where their privacy is guaranteed.”
