Signed MOU with State-Owned Defense Company 'ROMARM'
Comprehensive Cooperation on Local Production, Technology Transfer, and Joint Development
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The air defense missile technology of the global defense industry company LIG Nex1 has embarked on an export path to Romania.
LIG Nex1 (CEO Kim Ji-chan) announced on the 9th that it signed an 'MOU in the air defense missile sector' with ROMARM, a state-owned defense company in Romania.

The MOU signing ceremony held at the Romanian Ministry of Economy and Industry building was attended by Florin Marian Spataru, Minister of Economy and Industry of Romania, and Im Gap-su, the Korean Ambassador to Romania.
Hyunsoo Lee, Head of Overseas Business Division at LIG Nex1, and Florentina Micu, CEO of ROMARM, signed the agreement.
According to the MOU, LIG Nex1 and ROMARM will mutually cooperate in the air defense missile sector on ▲local production ▲technology transfer ▲joint development. They also plan to expand the scope of cooperation in line with the government policy directions of both the Republic of Korea and Romania.
The Romanian Ministry of National Defense stated, "LIG Nex1 is a company capable of meeting the essential stable maintenance and repair required to enhance military capabilities," and added, "The proposals for local production, technology transfer, and joint development are excellent measures for a mutually WIN-WIN outcome."
Florin Marian Spataru, Minister of Economy and Industry of Romania, emphasized after the signing ceremony, "I hope that economic cooperation will be further activated not only in the defense industry sector but also in the civilian sector through this MOU," and urged, "Please utilize Romania as a forward base."
Hyunsoo Lee, Head of Overseas Business Division at LIG Nex1, said, "This memorandum of understanding includes cooperation on technology transfer and local production, so it is expected to serve as a foundation for economic cooperation between the two countries, not limited to defense industry cooperation."
He added, "We hope to strengthen cooperation in various defense sectors in the future and become the best defense partner."
