[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, is lending out simple fine dust measuring devices to each household.
On the 9th, the city announced that it secured 5 simple measuring devices to allow individual households to measure fine dust by themselves and will promote this as a pilot project.
If the demand for rental is high, the project will be expanded.
According to the city, the measuring devices are products certified as Grade 1 by the Ministry of Environment and can check the real-time concentration of indoor and outdoor fine dust (PM-10), ultrafine dust (PM-2.5), carbon dioxide (CO2), and total volatile organic compounds (TVOC).
Any Gimhae citizen can apply for free, and the rental period is 2 nights and 3 days.
Applications can be made on the Gimhae City Hall website or by visiting the Climate Response Division at City Hall and filling out an application form.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Clear Air Team of the Climate Response Division at City Hall.
A city official advised, “Since the devices are lent on a first-come, first-served basis, it is necessary to check availability before visiting.”
Lee Yong-gyu, head of the Climate Response Division, said, “Recently, high concentrations of fine dust have frequently occurred, causing great concern among citizens about their health,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to develop various policies so that Gimhae City can be free from worries about fine dust.”
