2023 New Executive Interview Released
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] SK Hynix introduced this year’s newly appointed executive and yield (the ratio of good products among finished products) expert, "Lee Inno, Vice President of SK Hynix NAND SRT." Vice President Lee will be responsible for managing the yield of all NAND flash products going forward.
On the 9th, SK Hynix released an interview with Vice President Lee, this year’s new executive, in their newsroom. He joined the company in 1997 as an etching process engineer and has worked in the semiconductor field for 25 years.
Vice President Lee is a yield management expert who has worked at both domestic and overseas sites. During the early mass production of 3-dimensional (3D) NAND, he reduced the defect rate and raised production yield to over 90%, enhancing the company’s NAND competitiveness. As a result of proposing a completely different paradigm from existing methods, he was recognized for his contributions and received the 2020 Korea Engineer Award.
This challenge laid the foundation for producing products with higher process difficulty. Vice President Lee has solved difficult missions based on his diverse field experience and excellent communication skills. He said, "Mass production involves the highest costs and is directly linked to sales. If cost competitiveness can be improved during the mass production process, SK Hynix can definitely lead the market."
Vice President Lee will oversee the company-wide NAND yield management going forward. He plans to focus on overcoming the difficulties in securing stable yields during production expansion as process complexity increases. In particular, he will concentrate on improving yields in the 4-dimensional (4D) NAND manufacturing process.
He said, "I have spent half of my life with SK Hynix. I don’t think the path I have taken is the only correct answer, but I hope my experience can convey the message that if you do your best in the position you are given, you can ultimately achieve good results."
