Chairman Kim also sent a letter of condolence to Mansur Yava?, Chairman of the Ankara City Council, which has a friendship agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Council. The Seoul Metropolitan Council established a friendship agreement with the Ankara City Council, the capital of T?rkiye, in 1997, and has actively engaged in mutual exchanges since then.
On the 6th, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake occurred in T?rkiye, causing large-scale casualties.
Chairman Kim Hyun-gi stated, “I express my deep condolences to the people of T?rkiye who suffered great casualties due to this force majeure earthquake,” and added, “As the scale of damage continues to grow, I will urge Seoul City to maintain continuous interest and prepare additional support measures.”
Earlier, on the 7th, Seoul City provided support of $300,000 (approximately 360 million KRW) for the recovery from the T?rkiye earthquake damage.
Meanwhile, the Seoul Metropolitan Council is displaying messages of condolence on its website and electronic billboards to convey sympathy together with the citizens of Seoul.
