Chosun University Dental Hospital Receives Ministry of Health and Welfare Medical Institution Accreditation for the Third Consecutive Time

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University Dental Hospital (Hospital Director Inan Young Lee) announced on the 8th that it has obtained the 3rd cycle medical institution accreditation conducted by the Medical Institution Evaluation and Certification Institute under the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

In November last year, investigators from the Medical Institution Evaluation and Certification Institute directly visited the dental hospital and conducted an on-site evaluation of 268 inspection items across 3 areas, 12 chapters, and 6 categories, meeting all accreditation standards in items such as medical services and medical institution operation status.

The validity period of this accreditation is 4 years (January 18, 2023 ~ January 17, 2027).

The 3rd cycle accreditation evaluation expanded the mandatory accreditation items from 34 in the 2nd cycle to 55.

Reflecting social issues related to patient safety to strengthen responses to infectious diseases such as COVID-19, regulations on infection prevention and management were newly established as mandatory items, thereby strengthening infection control items.

After the 2nd cycle accreditation by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Chosun University Dental Hospital has been continuously conducting activities to improve patient safety and hospital medical quality through annual interim self-assessments and interim on-site inspections.

In particular, while preparing for this 3rd cycle accreditation, essential training such as infection control education, fire response drills and training, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation education were conducted for all staff.

Furthermore, in accordance with the understanding of the 3rd cycle inspection item standards, all regulations and guidelines were reviewed and revised to enhance medical services.
