"'An's Election Victory Could Lead to Yoon's Party Resignation' Is One Possibility"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-won] Shin Pyeong, a lawyer who resigned as the chairman of the support committee for Kim Ki-hyun, a candidate challenging the People Power Party leadership, targeted candidate Ahn Cheol-soo, saying, "The current power is being challenged by Ahn's future power."
On the 8th, Shin stated on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show,' "Ahn deceived people as if his future power had gained the understanding and trust of the current power."
He described the luncheon meeting between candidate Kim and former lawmaker Na Kyung-won the previous day as an "anti-Ahn Cheol-soo coalition." Shin said, "The two clearly declared an anti-Ahn Cheol-soo coalition, and going forward, former lawmaker Na will continue to support candidate Kim in some form."
Regarding former lawmaker Na, who had previously said she would not play a role in the party convention, meeting with candidate Kim, he explained, "Many people who share the perception of opposing candidate Ahn Cheol-soo and who wish for the success of the Yoon administration moved, resulting in this outcome."
Shin also addressed Ahn's remark that if elected as party leader, President Yoon would leave the party and form a new party, saying, "The future power is challenging the current power, so how could it possibly gain the understanding of the current power?" He clarified, "If candidate Ahn is elected, he will become a definite future power, inevitably causing confusion in state affairs, and there is a possibility that President Yoon would be forced into a situation where he must leave the party."
Shin directly challenged Ahn, saying, "Compete fairly and squarely. The theory of a Yoon-Ahn coalition is false."
