[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun, which is promoting the ‘2023 World Heritage City Gochang Visit Year,’ is expanding incentives for travel agencies attracting domestic and foreign group tourists.
According to the county on the 8th, this project, which will be implemented until December, provides partial travel cost support to travel agencies registered under the Tourism Promotion Act if they meet support conditions such as the number of visitors, use of tourist attractions, and restaurants.
In particular, this incentive support has been adjusted to reduce the standard number compared to last year to lessen the burden on travel agencies and increase the benefits.
Gochang-gun’s group tourist incentives provide 5,000 KRW per person when gathering 20 or more domestic tourists or 10 or more foreign tourists for day tours, using two paid tourist attractions and one restaurant.
For accommodation tourism, if 25 or more domestic tourists or 10 or more foreign tourists gather and stay at one paid tourist attraction and lodging facility, 10,000 KRW per person per night is supported, with an additional 50% support per person for stays of two nights or more.
County Governor Shim Deokseop said, “On the occasion of the 2023 World Heritage City Gochang Visit Year, we hope to overcome the difficulties of COVID-19 and see a recovery in group tourism demand,” adding, “Through the incentive support project, we hope many people will visit Gochang-gun, which has history, culture, various attractions, and things to enjoy.”
