With the lifting of the indoor mask mandate, consumer sentiment has revived, leading to an increase in customers visiting cafes.
On the 8th, Ediya Coffee analyzed data from over 3,000 franchise stores nationwide and found that the number of orders increased by 15% over the previous week during the eight days from the 30th of last month, when the indoor mask mandate was lifted, to the 6th of this month.
Ediya Coffee attributed the increase in store visits to the spread of consumer sentiment following the lifting of the indoor mask mandate, which led to a rise in foot traffic despite the cold weather. During the same period, the average sales per store rose by 6% compared to the previous week, showing signs of recovery.
Popular menu items during this period included winter season favorites such as the ‘Strawberry Latte Full of Sweet Strawberries,’ ‘Fresh Strawberry Condensed Milk Flatccino,’ and ‘Fresh Strawberry Juicy Apple Lime Tea,’ all characterized by the sweet texture of strawberries. Additionally, as the severe cold continued day after day, 58% of customers ordering the signature Americano chose hot beverages, indicating a decline in the long-standing ‘Eoljuka (Ice coffee no matter how cold it is)’ trend.
