Yoon Sang-hyun Urges "Lee Jun-seok and Cheon Ha-ram to Refrain from Comments Related to the Party Convention"

"Return the muzzle to the Democratic Party"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Yoon Sang-hyun, a candidate running in the ruling party's leadership election, advised former leader Lee Jun-seok, who is supporting candidate Cheon Ha-ram, to "refrain from making statements related to the leadership election." This is interpreted as Yoon, who is allied with Lee, requesting restraint after Lee and Cheon attacked candidate Ahn Cheol-soo.

On the 8th, Yoon said through his social media (SNS), "According to party regulations, former leader Lee, who falls under the category of 'persons prohibited from election campaigning,' is requested to refrain from making statements related to the leadership election, just as electioneering is prohibited for members of the National Assembly and party district chiefs."

Former leader Lee has been promoting candidate Cheon Ha-ram, whom he supports, through daily radio programs. On this day as well, he shared Cheon's poll results on SNS, focusing on creating a momentum for victory.

However, at the same time, he has not hesitated to criticize candidate Ahn. On the previous day’s KBS program 'Choi Kyung-young's Strong Current Affairs,' Cheon said, "Candidate Ahn's position has become ambiguous. He is not exactly a reformist candidate but has become a non-Yoon (Bi-Yoon) candidate." Former leader Lee pointed out on SBS's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show' that "Candidate Ahn starts grandly but ends weakly."

It appears that Yoon, who is allied with candidate Ahn, stepped in. Yoon said, "I hope candidate Cheon now directs his guns toward the Democratic Party. After a series of picketing at the National Assembly with candidates for Supreme Council member and Youth Supreme Council member, and a series of vision presentations and pledges, what kind of alliance are you trying to form again?" He added, "I understand your feelings, but as a seasoned 'political senior,' I earnestly ask you to exercise restraint."
