Why Is Gwangjin-gu Strengthening Support for 'Integrated Case Management'?

A meeting was held to discuss activity plans by district after education on projects and systems

Expectations for more close-knit, customized service support through multifaceted approaches reflecting public and private perspectives

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held the ‘Integrated Case Management Public-Private Practitioner Education and Meeting’ on the 7th.

‘Integrated Case Management’ refers to a project that integratively connects and provides customized services such as welfare, health, housing, credit, and legal support based on public and private resources within the community to individuals with diverse needs. After providing services, continuous monitoring is conducted to help the recipients maintain a stable life.

The education and meeting held at the Gwangjin-gu Office Comprehensive Situation Room were attended by 30 public and private integrated case management practitioners. The district promoted this education and meeting to approach integrated case management from a multifaceted perspective reflecting the different views of the public and private sectors, aiming to provide more close-knit customized services to the recipients.

First, participants received guidance and education on ‘Integrated Case Management’ and the ‘Sonamu Center (Crisis Family Integrated Support Center),’ followed by a Q&A session where they asked questions and received answers about practical methods for implementing integrated case management.

In the subsequent meeting, public district leaders were elected by region, and activity plans by district were discussed. Attendees gathered various opinions, discussing detailed aspects such as education directions and meeting frequency by district, as well as overall topics including the development of district institutions’ projects and case management projects.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the public and private practitioners who work hard in the social welfare field to discover and support neighbors in need in the community,” adding, “I hope that through this education and meeting, a solid cooperative system between public and private sectors will be established in the region, further activating integrated case management in Gwangjin-gu.”

The district plans to prepare this year’s schedule and project activities, which will be promoted in cooperation with the private sector, centered on the activity plans established by district through this education and meeting.
