From the 14th to the 24th, Customized Information for Prospective Parents Provided
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Gyeongnam Office of Education announced on the 7th that it will operate the ‘2023 New Semester! Parent Study Room for My Child’s College Admission’.
The provincial Office of Education plans to accept advance applications from 200 parents of prospective high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, provide guidance on new semester preparation tips and the latest college admission information, and conduct a parent-customized college admission collaboration program.
According to the provincial Office of Education, on the 14th and 23rd, the sessions will be held in the large conference room on the 7th floor of the 2nd building of the provincial Office of Education, and on the 17th and 24th, they will be held at the Western College Admission Information Center from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
The provincial Office of Education’s College Admission Information Center plans to operate the study room focusing on ▲college admission terminology ▲characteristics and preparation methods for each area of a well-rounded school life record ▲monthly and semester school life methods and areas ▲features of college admission screening.
They will provide information on the direction of admission preparation, the latest admission information, curriculum according to career paths, elective subjects based on supported majors, and offer lectures, Q&A sessions, and solutions for curricular and extracurricular activities.
They will also guide on school life considering the increase of non-admission factors such as gifted and invention education achievements, autonomous clubs, individual volunteer activities, awards, and reading activities, as well as the characteristics of the 2024 college admission screening and changes in university-specific screening methods compared to the previous year.
They will explain subject selection according to the partial implementation of the high school credit system, changes in the high school curriculum based on the 2015 curriculum, learning methods for career elective subjects, and university evaluation methods in student record-based screening and comprehensive student record screening.
Participating parents will receive a booklet containing evaluation methods for each area of the school life record, understanding of the College Scholastic Ability Test, preparation methods for comprehensive student record screening, and successful case studies of comprehensive student record screening as a gift.
Applications are available from 10:00 AM on the 7th via the Gyeongnam College Admission Information Center website.
