Incheon Airport Corporation: "Unconditional Withdrawal of Sky72 Marks the Start of Problem Resolution"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Incheon International Airport Corporation has virtually rejected Sky72's proposal to transfer business rights with the condition of guaranteeing the tenant operator's business rights.

On the 7th, Incheon Airport Corporation emphasized regarding Sky72's request to resume operations of the Bada Course during the succession procedure period, citing the livelihood of employees, that "there is neither justification nor practical benefit in resuming operations of the Bada Course, which has already been executed." It added, "Only Sky72's unconditional withdrawal is the starting point for resolving the issue."

The corporation stressed that over the past two years since the land use period ended on December 31, 2020, Sky72 has claimed baseless reimbursement of beneficial expenses and rights to purchase above-ground facilities. The corporation stated, "Even after the Supreme Court's final ruling confirming our victory, they unlawfully occupied golf course facilities and gained unjust profits."

It continued, "After the confirmed ruling, companies presumed to be disguised tenants came to the forefront," and explained, "We express regret over the situation where the Incheon District Court Enforcement Office's legitimate compulsory execution was obstructed, raising concerns about the undermining of the rule of law."

Along with this, the corporation explained that regarding employment issues, the successor operator is preparing succession agreements with small business operators recently, thus establishing practical solutions. The corporation said, "We will make every effort at the corporate level to support the stable business operations of tenants and the succession of employee employment, as promised by the successor operator."

Finally, the corporation emphasized, "We deeply regret Sky72's unilateral proposal to transfer golf course operations and temporarily resume operations of the executed Bada Course amid many difficulties caused by internal and external economic crises."

Meanwhile, Sky72 Golf Course proposed to Incheon International Airport Corporation the transfer of business operations, demanding the same conditions be guaranteed for three years to tenant operators, partner companies, and caddies.
