This meeting brought together representatives from local cooperative institutions including Yeongyang-gun Mental Health Welfare Center, Yeongyang Police Station, Yeongyang 119 Safety Center, Cheongsong Jinbo Hospital, and Yeongyang-gun Resident Welfare Division to review each institution's response status and discuss improvement plans and cooperation matters through sharing cases of psychiatric emergencies.
A psychiatric emergency situation refers to an acute disorder of accident, behavior, mood, and social relationships, where a mental illness manifests or worsens in an acute phase, threatening the safety and health of the patient or others.
They also explored effective cooperation measures on topics such as training life savers, procedures for providing information on suicide attempters, and dialogue contributions.
Governor O Do-chang said, “In the event of a psychiatric emergency, we will do our best to protect the health and safety of mental illness patients, their families, and ultimately residents by responding safely and promptly through organic cooperation among related organizations.”
