AI-Powered Image-Based Product Recommendations Launched in Q1
In-House AI Analyzes 10 Million Product Data
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Digital platform solution company Platiere announced on the 7th that its AI MarTech solution ‘Groobee’ will launch an AI-powered image-based product recommendation service in the first quarter of this year.
Groobee continuously advances its recommendation algorithms to enable e-commerce platforms to provide the best shopping experience. Through the new service, it plans to offer a refined and differentiated shopping experience with personalized product recommendations tailored to customer preferences.
The image-based product recommendation service calculates the similarity between all products registered on the shopping mall based on product image analysis data and recommends products similar to those desired by customers. It selects similar products by utilizing various attributes such as product classification, color, and shape. For example, a customer viewing a blue collar short-sleeve shirt will be recommended shirts with similar designs. It is expected to be actively used by fashion brands where style-based product recommendations are effective.
Platiere’s image-based product recommendation has the advantage of enabling learning and accurate product recommendations using only product images. Existing collaborative filtering-based AI product recommendations that use customer purchase or preference data sometimes fail to provide accurate recommendations due to insufficient data on new products. To overcome this limitation, Groobee was developed to immediately learn and recommend newly added products on the same day.
Groobee analyzes over 10 million product data using a deep learning-based image analysis algorithm through its proprietary AI system to accurately understand the image characteristics of products that customers show interest in. It provides stable AI product recommendation services to high-traffic sites such as Shinhan Card, K Car, and Fila.

In addition to AI-powered image-based product recommendations, Groobee also offers personalized product recommendation services considering the characteristics of customer sites. Furthermore, it has been steadily advancing its product recommendation algorithms, including obtaining patents last September related to product recommendation devices, methods, and recording media for personalized product recommendations.
