Song Joong-ki transforms into a North Korean defector. He plays Rogiwan, who fights desperately to be recognized as a refugee, his only hope, in the unfamiliar land of Belgium, a distant part of Europe he left with nothing. Marie, a Korean former shooting athlete with Belgian nationality, is played by Choi Sung-eun. Marie is a character who unintentionally falls in love with Rogiwan, with whom she has a complicated fate.

Jo Han-chul plays Yoon-sung, Marie's father, and Lee Il-hwa portrays Ok-hee, Rogiwan's mother, who is the decisive reason for his journey to Belgium. Lee Sang-hee plays Seon-ju, a Joseonjok (ethnic Korean from China) whom Rogiwan meets at a factory in Belgium, and Seo Hyun-woo takes on the role of Eun-cheol, Rogiwan's maternal uncle.

Rising director Kim Hee-jin, who gained attention by winning awards at the Jeonju Film Festival and Seoul Independent Film Festival with the short film 'School Trip,' is in charge of the screenplay and direction of 'Rogiwan.' This is Kim's debut feature film.
