[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sacheon City, Gyeongnam Province, is recruiting '2023 Top Agricultural Manager Course Trainees' until the 24th to foster CEOs equipped with new knowledge and management skills to lead future agriculture.
The city plans to recruit a total of 180 trainees for the Top Agricultural Manager Course: 80 at Gyeongnam National University Gajwa Campus, 60 at Gyeongnam National University Chilam Campus, and 40 at Pusan National University Miryang Campus.
This Top Agricultural Manager Course is a one-year program, running from April this year to February next year, conducted over 140 hours across 9 courses at 3 campuses of 2 universities.
At Gyeongnam National University Gajwa Campus, 4 courses including Hanwoo (Korean beef cattle), fermented foods, agricultural product processing, and facility vegetables will be offered; Chilam Campus will offer 3 courses including facility strawberries, facility peppers and tomatoes, and cucurbit crops.
Additionally, Pusan National University Miryang Campus will offer 2 courses: smart horticulture and Hanwoo management.
Eligibility includes farmers residing in the province who wish to take specialized education by item, farmers residing in Sacheon City, or representatives and executives of producer organizations who can lead regional agriculture.
Selected farmers will receive support of 1,473,000 KRW out of the 2,104,000 KRW tuition fee (631,000 KRW from provincial funds and 842,000 KRW from city funds). Trainees are responsible for paying 631,000 KRW.
Selection priority will be determined considering farm scale, farming experience, education completion, and leadership ability, with priority recommendations for successor agricultural managers, female farmers, and returnee farmers.
Final successful candidates will be announced in March and notified individually.
