[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters reporters Song Jong-gu and Lee Se-ryeong] On the occasion of the 2023 Jeongwol Daeboreum, the Jindong Keun Jul Darigi event was held in Jindong-myeon, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam.

The event, which had been suspended due to the large-scale spread of COVID-19, was held again this year, marking its 27th occurrence.

The event, hosted by the Jindong Folk Culture Preservation Society, took place on the 5th at the Dongchon stream in Jindong-myeon.

The city explained that the event was organized to inherit the disappearing tradition through Keun Jul Darigi, which is said to have started since the Three Kingdoms period, and to enhance the unity and pride of local residents.

On the day, side events such as Jeongwol Daeboreum celebration performances, singing contests, and rituals were held, and Mayor Hong Nam-pyo pulled the rope together with citizens, praying for regional development and good fortune.

Mayor Hong said, “I hope many citizens safely and joyfully enjoy the Jeongwol Daeboreum event, held for the first time in four years due to the impact of COVID-19,” and added, “I hope all the wishes of the citizens for the year of the Gyemyo (Year of the Rabbit) come true.”
