Coast Guard and Navy Fully Committed to Searching for Missing Persons in Capsized Fishing Boat Incident

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] On the afternoon of the 5th at 3 PM, the Coast Guard and Navy are conducting search operations to find 9 missing persons from the capsized vessel 'Cheongboho' in the western waters of Daebichi Island, Imja-myeon, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do.


On this day, to rescue the remaining 9 people, 26 Coast Guard vessels, 5 Navy vessels, 3 government ships, 2 civilian ships, 5 Coast Guard aircraft, 4 military aircraft, and 30 SSU maritime rescue team members were deployed.


The vessel capsized 16.6 km west of Daebichi Island, Jaewon-ri, Imja-myeon, Sinan-gun. Of the 12 crew members on board, 3 were rescued, but 9 are missing.
