Fire in Basement Level 1 of Garibong-dong Apartment Complex... Resident in 60s Found Dead

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] A fire broke out in the basement of a multi-family house in Guro-gu, Seoul, resulting in the death of a resident in his 60s.

Seoul Guro Fire Station announced on the 4th that they responded to a report of a fire of unknown cause that occurred around 2:36 PM on the 3rd in the basement level 1 of a building in Garibong-dong, Guro-gu. The fire caused the death of a man in his 60s, Mr. A, who was inside the building, and partial damage to the interior of the house, resulting in property damage estimated at 5.41 million won.

During the fire suppression process, two residents were rescued, and five other residents evacuated on their own. A fire official stated, “The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.”
