[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Seulgina Cho] Microsoft (MS) founder Bill Gates once again targeted Tesla CEO Elon Musk on the 3rd (local time).
In an interview with the BBC released that day, Gates said about Musk's plan to colonize Mars, "It doesn't seem like he is using money well."
In response to the question, "Is going to Mars a good use of money?" he said that funding vaccine development is a better use of cash than sending humanity to Mars. He also emphasized, "Going to Mars is quite costly," adding, "You can buy a measles vaccine and save lives for $1,000."
This was aimed at Musk, who is aggressively investing with the goal of realizing human settlement on Mars by 2050 using the space exploration company SpaceX.
Earlier, in a February 2021 interview with CNBC, Gates also criticized Musk's 'Mars colonization' plan, saying, "I am not a Mars person. I don't think rockets are the solution to (the climate crisis)."
