Five-Vehicle Collision on Namhae Expressway... 6 People with Minor to Moderate Injuries

Near the entrance of Jinyeong Rest Area on the Namhae Expressway heading toward Busan, five vehicles were involved in a chain collision, and firefighters and police are conducting rescue operations and managing the scene.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] At around 9:08 PM on the 3rd, five vehicles collided consecutively near the entrance of Jinyeong Rest Area on the Namhae Expressway, Busan direction, Dong-eup, Uichang-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam.

According to the Changwon Fire Headquarters, upon receiving a report of multiple vehicle collisions, 12 vehicles including 119 ambulances and rescue vehicles, 27 firefighters, and 32 police officers were dispatched to the scene.

Rescue and emergency medical personnel rescued six people at the scene, including one patient in cardiac arrest, provided emergency treatment, and transported them to the hospital.

The police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident based on vehicle black boxes and driver statements.
