Even BLACKPINK's Lisa Uses It... What Is the 'Top 0.05%' Card 'The Black'?

Hyundai Card VVIP Credit Card
Membership Registration Requires Invitation

Girl group BLACKPINK's Lisa was recently spotted using Hyundai Card's premium credit card, 'The Black,' overseas, drawing attention. Known as a credit card exclusively for the "top 0.05%," The Black is said to have only 1,000 cardholders in total.

Lisa's card was revealed on the 1st through BLACKPINK member Jisoo's YouTube channel. In the vlog video that day, Lisa took out her wallet to purchase alcohol at a wine shop in the Christmas market in Cologne, Germany, and The Black card was inside.

The Black is a VVIP credit card launched by Hyundai Card in 2005, emphasizing its premium status with the slogan "a card only for the top 0.05%." In 2017, The Black Edition 2 was introduced, followed by "The Black Edition 3" in 2021.

As a card exclusively for VVIP customers, the annual fee is also considerable. It is reported that The Black Edition 2 has an annual fee of 2.5 million KRW.

Moreover, when issuing the card, Hyundai Card adopts an "Invitation only" membership system that considers not only the customer's assets and income but also their social status and honor.

The last card number of The Black is 1000. Although the exact number of cards issued so far is unknown, it is presumed that the total number of cardholders has not exceeded 1,000.

Among celebrities, singer G-Dragon, BTS members Jin and Jungkook are known to own The Black. Recently, Hyundai Card Vice Chairman Jung Tae-young posted a photo on Facebook holding The Black with actor Lee Jung-jae, which became a hot topic.

Meanwhile, The Black's membership benefits are known to include purchasing various luxury gift certificates, overseas travel reservation services tailored to customers' preferences, and cultural content such as the best hotels, restaurants, and galleries worldwide.

It also offers services such as upgrading airline tickets to first or business class, free access to the Martina Gold Lounge at Incheon Airport, and membership privileges at famous golf courses.
