[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire Safety Headquarters (Chief Park Geun-oh) announced on the 3rd that it held a Fire Technology Deliberation Committee meeting on the 2nd at the headquarters meeting room with fire-related experts in attendance.

The Fire Technology Deliberation Committee reviews ▲the presence or absence of defects in fire facilities ▲the presence or absence of defects in the design, construction, and supervision of fire facilities installed in specific fire target buildings with a total floor area of less than 100,000㎡ ▲the application of fire safety standards or facility standards for hazardous material manufacturing plants ▲and other matters referred by the governor for deliberation, according to relevant laws and operational regulations.
At this Fire Technology Deliberation Committee meeting, an in-depth review was conducted on detailed standards for fire facilities to be applied in the Fire Safety Guide for Electric Vehicle Exclusive Parking Zones.
The detailed review items included fire extinguishers suitable for parking compartments and appropriate fire extinguishing capacity units, efficient fire compartmentation measures to prevent fire spread, and plans for installing fire water tanks.
The results of the deliberation will be applied to the future ‘Fire Safety Guide for Electric Vehicle Exclusive Parking Zones’ to reflect efficient fire prevention measures for electric vehicles.
Park Geun-oh, head of the Fire Safety Headquarters, said, “The role of the Fire Technology Deliberation Committee is significant due to increasingly complex and diverse fire patterns,” and added, “We will strive to establish a safe fire environment by reflecting the results of this deliberation to prepare fire safety measures related to electric vehicles.”
