Security Guard Dies After Being Attacked Following Slap to Camel's Cheek
A security guard working at a children's camp in Russia was attacked and killed after hitting a camel.
On the 2nd (local time), according to the New York Post and others, a camel being raised at a children's camp located in Omsk, Russia, attacked the camp's security guard, Mr. A (51), at the end of last month.
CCTV footage of the incident shows Mr. A approaching the camel, which was standing still on the snowy ground, hitting the camel's face several times and roughly pulling its reins.
Enraged by the sudden attack, the camel shook its head to push Mr. A away. When Mr. A fell to the ground, the camel bit his arm, pulling his body, then mercilessly trampled and bit him.
Mr. A sustained head and body injuries and was transported to the hospital but ultimately lost his life. The New York Post, citing local media, reported, "The camel did not tolerate such treatment," and "The man paid with his life for hitting the animal's face." Local prosecutors are investigating whether the camel that attacked the caretaker was legally housed at the children's camp.
Meanwhile, camels are known to be patient and gentle herbivores. However, camels are also known to have a characteristic of relentlessly attacking their surroundings until their anger subsides when subjected to stress beyond a certain level.
