[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] The presidential office is reportedly considering filing a complaint against former Ministry of National Defense spokesperson Bu Seung-chan, who raised suspicions that the fortune teller ‘Cheongong’ was involved in the decision-making process for the new presidential residence, as well as the media outlet that first reported his remarks, according to Yonhap News on the 2nd.

A presidential office official stated, "Despite Kim Yong-hyun, head of the Presidential Security Service, already stating that he has no acquaintance with Cheongong, we are reviewing legal measures to hold accountable those who repeatedly spread related suspicions."
If the complaint is actually filed, it would be the first case under the current administration targeting a media outlet. Former spokesperson Bu said in an interview with News Tomato published that day, "Former Army Chief of Staff Nam Young-shin said, ‘Around March last year, Cheongong and Director Kim conducted a preliminary inspection of the Chief of Staff’s residence and the Seoul office, according to a report from the residence manager.’"
