Promise to Propose Establishment of Industrial Manpower Support Office for Regional Issue Cooperation

At a dialogue with residents held at the county office, Governor Park said, “Haman is the center of history and culture imbued with the spirit of Aragaya and is a city leading Gyeongnam’s agriculture, including the horticulture industry, with a business-friendly location.”
He then presented a vision to strengthen industrial site competitiveness through road network improvements such as the expansion of the Jungbu Inland Expressway and the establishment of the Changwon Industrial Line, as well as fostering manufacturing industries linked to Changwon’s machinery and nuclear power plants and Sacheon’s aerospace sector.
On the same day, County Governor Jo Geun-je explained major issues including the Aragaya Historic Site District Development Project and the hosting of the 2026 World Horticulture (Watermelon) Expo.
He also requested active provincial support for the creation of the King’s Garden at the Maliyasan Tumuli Cluster and the inclusion of the Chilbuk Gayuncheon Disaster Prevention Project.
Governor Park said, “The supply of manpower is the most important factor for the continuous development of industry,” promising active response to industrial manpower supply and the establishment of an Industrial Manpower Support Office.
He added that corporate support policies, including employment and funding for mid-sized companies, would also be reviewed.

Before the dialogue with residents, Governor Park visited the headquarters of BHI, a power equipment company located in Gunbuk-myeon, Haman.
He listened to on-site opinions regarding the restoration of the nuclear power industry ecosystem and eco-friendly energy businesses such as the hydrogen industry, and exchanged views on energy supply measures and practical support according to power supply plans.
On the day, Gyeongnam Province decided to cooperate with Haman to promote the attraction and establishment of a Northeast Asia logistics platform to develop the Haman Samchil area into an inland logistics complex, accelerate the early construction of Chilseo Industrial Complex Station on the Changwon Industrial Line, and advance projects including the Aragaya Historic Site District Development Project.
