Caught Entering Public Institution First Floor Restroom
Flees Upon Discovery... Apprehended by Security Staff
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] A man in his 30s was arrested for entering a women's restroom in a public institution in Jeju to satisfy sexual desires.
Jeju Dongbu Police Station announced on the 2nd that Mr. A was arrested and is under investigation on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.
Mr. A is accused of breaking into the women's restroom on the first floor of a public institution in Jeju City at around 6:10 PM on the 30th of last month.
At that time, a woman, Ms. B, who had entered the restroom, saw Mr. A hiding in a stall and waited outside. When Mr. A came out, she confronted him. Mr. A said, "I came for an inspection," and then fled.
Later, a security officer at the building, who was alerted by Ms. B, caught Mr. A as he was trying to escape inside the building and handed him over to the police who had arrived on the scene.
According to the investigation, Mr. A stayed in the women's restroom for 15 minutes, and no illegally installed cameras or recorded videos were found.
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the case, believing that Mr. A entered the women's restroom with sexual intent.
