Hampyeong-gun's 'Hometown Love Donation Program' Sees Continuous Contributions from Various Sectors

Attorney Noh Young-dae and Yongin Special Mayor Lee Sang-il Join Donations by Hometown Alumni

According to the county on the 2nd, with the Hometown Love Donation Program being fully implemented from the new year, donations have been pouring in from all over the country, including expatriates and sister cities.


First, Attorney Youngdae Noh, the representative of the law firm Beopga, donated 5 million won last month, which is the annual maximum amount for the Hometown Love Donation Program.


He also practiced hometown love by re-donating Hampyeong Nabi Rice (worth about 1.5 million won) received as a return gift.


Attorney Noh, who is from Wolya-myeon, has served as a judge at the Gwangju District Court, president of the Gwangju Bar Association, and co-representative of the Gwangju Journalists' Rights Center, and is currently working as the representative attorney of the law firm Beopga.


In addition, Namcheol Lee, the governor of Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk, which has a sisterhood relationship with Hampyeong-gun, and Heejong Park, the mayor of Dong-gu, Daejeon Metropolitan City, also donated funds to Hampyeong-gun, wishing for the successful establishment of the system.

Then, on the 1st, Sangil Lee, mayor of Yongin Special City and a native of Hampyeong-eup, donated 1 million won from his own pocket as a hometown love donation to Hampyeong-gun.


The mayor said, “The Hometown Love Donation Program will be a great help in revitalizing the local economy and supporting vulnerable groups,” and added, “I donated to my hometown Hampyeong in the hope that the purpose of the system will be widely known and many citizens will participate.”


Sangik Lee, the county governor, said, “We deeply thank everyone who donated to our county,” and “We ask for continuous interest and participation for the stable establishment of the Hometown Love Donation Program.”
