According to Seogwipo Maritime Police Station on that day, Chief Yoon first visited Seongsan Police Substation and held an award ceremony to present a commendation to the meritorious officer (Sergeant Kim Geonhyeong) who rescued a stranded vessel that occurred in the waters near Seongsan last month.
This visit was to check the current status of work such as the locations of major ports and harbors in the jurisdiction and the operation status of multi-use vessels, and to inspect the implementation status of safety accident prevention guidelines related to the Serious Accidents Punishment Act for the office building and major equipment (coastal rescue boat, patrol car, etc.).
In addition, it was an opportunity to encourage the hard work of the Seongsan Police Substation staff working on the front lines and to listen to their difficulties and opinions.
Chief Yoon Taeyeon said, “Please do your best to prevent maritime accidents by building rescue capabilities so that rapid dispatch and response can be made through repetitive training.”
