[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] The Korea Construction Waste Collection and Transportation Association and Sugooin announced on the 1st that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop and distribute a waste collection service application to actively participate in the construction site household waste reporting system.
The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Hyungjin, president of the Korea Construction Waste Collection and Transportation Association, and Park Sangwon, CEO of Sugooin.

This agreement was promoted under the association’s leadership to seek ways for member companies to easily participate in the construction site household waste discharge reporting system introduced by Seoul City through the establishment of an IT technology-based management system.
Currently, the collection and processing status of construction site household waste is manually recorded and signed by the waste transporter on a transfer document, which is handed over along with the waste to the processor. However, subsequent processing status and data organization require dedicated personnel and significant time, and due to operational errors, it is difficult to obtain accurate waste statistics.
The waste collection service application ‘Sugoobot’ developed by Sugooin allows processors to input discharge status (generation location, characteristics, weight, etc.) and transportation information (transporter, vehicle information, etc.) via smartphone, while simultaneously providing real-time confirmation of waste intake and processing information along with necessary statistical data.
Through this, the manpower required for inputting intake information, preparing statistical data, and administrative documentation is minimized, which can solve the manpower shortage of small and medium-sized processing companies. Additionally, each local government will receive real-time reports on construction site household waste discharge and processing status, and upon request, data can be processed using big data to provide necessary information, contributing to the improvement of administrative tasks.
Kim Hyungjin, president of the Korea Construction Waste Collection and Transportation Association, stated through this agreement, “The association will actively participate in the ‘Construction Site Household Waste Discharge Reporting System’ promoted by Seoul City and the government by establishing and distributing an appropriate system for construction site household waste processing, and will continue efforts for proper waste management.”
Park Sangwon, CEO of Sugooin, said, “Through this agreement, based on the professional technology of waste collection, transportation, and processing held by our parent company Cheonil Energy, we will continue research and efforts to distribute an appropriate system so that about 1,800 construction waste collection and transportation companies nationwide can properly process waste and easily handle administrative tasks.”
Meanwhile, the waste collection service application developed by Sugooin is scheduled to be officially commercialized in the second half of 2023 after a pilot use period targeting members of the Korea Construction Waste Collection and Transportation Association, and is expected to make a significant contribution to the construction site household waste discharge reporting system in the future.
