[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] GC Green Cross announced on the 2nd that it has launched a new over-the-counter cold medicine product called ‘Colok,’ featuring softgel capsules for fast effectiveness and consumer convenience.
Colok is an intuitive and easy-to-remember name with a dual meaning, referring both to the typical cold symptoms sound and the phrase ‘Cold Lock.’ The product line consists of three types: Colok Comprehensive Softgel Capsules, Colok Nose Softgel Capsules, and Colok Cough Softgel Capsules.
All three products commonly contain acetaminophen, which has analgesic and antipyretic effects. The main ingredient, acetaminophen, can be taken by patients who show hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Additionally, the liquid softgel form allows for rapid onset of effects and reduces gastrointestinal side effects such as stomach irritation, enhancing ease of use. The packaging design features a cartoon style that expresses the product name in a friendly manner, which is also a distinctive feature.
The Colok products can be taken by adolescents aged 15 and older and adults, with a dosage of three times a day (2 capsules per dose). Each package contains 12 capsules, enough for two days of use per person.
A GC Green Cross official stated, “The Colok series is formulated with symptom-specific cold ingredients at maximum appropriate dosages, allowing for customized product selection. The efficacy, effects, and dosage instructions are printed on the front of the package so consumers can easily check them at a glance.”
