[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] “As the first full moon of the new year rises and we pray for a year of abundance on Jeongwol Daeboreum, do your best in proactive safety management and rapid response to ensure a safe Gyeongnam.”

Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, instructed to prepare for mass crowd accidents and fires at Jeongwol Daeboreum events to be held across the province on the 5th.

The Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters will begin special alert duty from 6 p.m. on the 3rd until 9 a.m. on the 6th to prevent fires and establish an initial response system.

▲ Fire station chiefs will be on command duty and 100% of available firefighting forces will be secured to mobilize superior firefighting power in the early stages of fires ▲ Pre-inspections and village-level patrol activities to prevent fires at event sites ▲ Strengthening cooperation systems with related agencies to maintain an all-out response posture.

At 64 event sites expected to attract crowds, firefighting forces will be deployed nearby, day and night patrols will be strengthened in 284 designated sections, and patrols will also be intensified in fire-prone areas such as regions adjacent to forests.

The Forest Management Division will guide folk play event locations to places without wildfire risk, deploy seven wildfire suppression helicopters by region, and station more than 3,300 personnel including specialized wildfire prevention and suppression teams at wildfire vulnerable areas.

The Social Disaster Division is responsible for inspecting 28 event sites where the instantaneous maximum number of participants?meaning the number of people participating within one hour at the event site?exceeds 500 among about 300 outdoor events held on Jeongwol Daeboreum day.

Among them, eight sites will undergo joint special safety inspections by the province and city/county governments, and 20 sites will be inspected by the city/county governments themselves.

They plan to check the safety management of event sites, measures to prevent mass crowding, adequacy of accident response systems in case of emergencies, and safety of temporary facilities, and guide corrections before the events.
