The Jangmok Tourism Complex is a project in which the private investment company JMTC Consortium is investing a total project cost of 1.2 trillion KRW to develop a healing stay-type resort facility that integrates nature, science and technology, and culture and arts over an area of 1.25 million square meters in Jangmok-myeon, Geoje City.

Gyeongnam Province plans to complete the establishment plan by 2024, start the site development project from 2025, complete construction in 2027, and officially begin operating the tourism complex after completing the installation of upper facilities by 2030.
According to the province, about 50 people, including residents of the Jangmok area, attended the residents' briefing session held at the Hwangpo Village Hall in Jangmok-myeon.
The province informed about the progress of the Jangmok Tourism Complex Development Project and the project promotion plan.
They listened to residents' suggestions and opinions on the project and discussed discovering projects that local residents can participate in proactively in connection with the tourism complex.

The residents said, "We welcome the full-scale promotion of the project that had been drifting for a long time," and "Please prepare measures to coexist not only with the tourism complex but also with the Jangmok area."
"Please promote the project so that young people in the area can generate income, the youth population steadily inflows, and the youth become the main force for regional development," they requested.
"Please create opportunities for regular communication between the province, the JMTC Consortium, and local residents to listen to local voices and accept opinions," they added, "Considering that this is a key project that will lead changes in the region, we will actively cooperate."
Jang Young-wook, Director of Tourism Development Division, said, "This project will greatly contribute to the development of the underdeveloped Jangmok area in Geoje," and added, "We will listen to and collect various opinions and suggestions from the region to make the Jangmok Tourism Complex Development Project a representative exemplary case of coexistence with local residents."
