Mayor Hong Nampyo Holds Communication Meeting with Agricultural Organizations
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] On the 2nd, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam set this year's agricultural sector goal as ‘Creating sustainable agriculture and rural areas where future generations want to live’ and held a meeting with representatives of agricultural organizations to establish a four-year long-term plan and seek ways to revitalize the agricultural sector.
The meeting was arranged as part of Mayor Hong Nam-pyo of Changwon Special City's communication administration with citizens emphasized since the beginning of the year, aiming to implement demand-centered agricultural policies and directly listen to the vivid voices from the field to create better agricultural environment conditions.
On this day, six leaders representing Changwon's agriculture, including the Korea Successor Agricultural Managers Association Changwon City Federation, attended. They had an in-depth discussion about current agricultural problems and difficulties, fostering young farmers, and the direction to lead future agriculture.
Kim Bo-seong, president of the Changwon Young Farmers Association, said, “Today was a time to resolve questions that we farmers usually have. Especially, I deeply appreciate Changwon City for promoting various policies to foster young farmers.”
Mayor Hong said, “The reality of rural areas is not easy due to economic recession caused by COVID-19, rising agricultural material costs, and shortage of agricultural labor, and I would like to express my gratitude to all farmers working hard on the front lines. I will listen carefully to the difficulties in the field and take the lead in developing Changwon agriculture so that 2023 can be a year of growth beyond change.”
