Marking the 190th anniversary of Brahms' birth, the National Symphony commemorates him through Brahms' only violin concerto, considered one of the world's three great concertos. It is a masterpiece born from Brahms' admiration for Beethoven and his friendship with the violinist Joseph Joachim, known as the "Emperor of the Bow" in his time.

This work is beloved by music enthusiasts for its grand scale, solid structure, and musical depth characteristic of Brahms. The soloist is violinist Baiba Skride, who won the Queen Elizabeth Competition in 2001 and is returning to Korea after 13 years.

The finale of the performance will be Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, known as the "Fate" Symphony. The message of overcoming the tragic fate of a musician who lost his hearing and moving toward the light has captivated countless people throughout music history. The first four notes alone leave a strong auditory impression, offering musical enjoyment through various variations in each movement.

Artistic Director Davit Ryland said, "I hope this musical encounter between two of history's greatest masters and their two masterpieces will be a time to reflect on the power of music that connects all of us in these complex times."
