5 Second-Year Students from Gyeongbuk Mechanical Technical High School Pass Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power High School Graduate Recruitment

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 2nd that Gyeongbuk Mechanical Technical High School produced 5 successful candidates in the 2022 Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) high school graduate recruitment process, which selected 30 people nationwide.


In the 2022 high school graduate recruitment process, KHNP selected 30 prospective hires nationwide from Meister High School second-year students through a first round including self-introduction letters and job competency evaluations, followed by interviews.


The 5 second-year students from Gyeongbuk Mechanical Technical High School who passed this time will advance to the third year, maintain their average grades, acquire certifications and meet verification conditions such as a TOEIC score of 700, then after completing their military service following graduation, work as specialized technical personnel at KHNP.

Gyeongbuk Mechanical Technical High School’s outstanding performance in this early recruitment process targeting second-year students is the result of operating systematic employment support programs such as the ‘Two-Track-8Course’ which provides customized support subdivided by corporate groups so that students can prepare for employment processes needed for their desired career paths from the time of admission, and the ‘Meister High School Competency Certification Program’ which manages individual students to develop various competencies required for employment.


Kim Ryeong-gyun, a second-year student in the Materials Processing Department at Gyeongbuk Mechanical Technical High School who passed this time, said, “Thanks to the school’s systematic support, I was able to be accepted by the company I hoped for. I will work hard to fulfill the necessary requirements and improve the skills and competencies needed for the job during the remaining semester.”
