Gwangju City Recruiting 470 Participants for the 13th Term of 'Ilgyeongheom Dream Plus' Program

Support for Youth Work Experience, Education, and Networking Activities

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kang Gijeong) announced on the 2nd that it will recruit 470 members of the 13th Dream Youth to participate in work experience for five months in the first half of the year through the ‘Gwangju Youth Work Experience Dream Plus’ project.


‘Gwangju Youth Work Experience Dream Plus’ is a job project that supports Gwangju youth with work experience suited to their job aptitude, job competency enhancement education, and related activities.

It has been promoted since 2017, and until 2022, over 5,000 young people participated and built job competencies at various workplaces in the region.


This year, a total of 920 people will be supported based on participation in the five-month project: 470 in the first half (120 each for public institution type and corporate type, 80 each for social welfare type and social value type, and 70 for youth start-up company type), 340 in the second half, and 110 in the job deepening track (10 months participation - separately selected from first half participants to continue until the second half).


The recruitment target for the first half is unemployed youth aged 19 to 39 (born from March 2, 1983, to March 1, 2004) who are registered residents of Gwangju.


Youth wishing to participate can pre-register through the Gwangju Youth Work Experience Dream website from 10 a.m. on the 6th to 9 a.m. on the 16th.


Those who pre-register on the website must participate in the ‘Dream Meeting Day’ held at the City Hall 1st floor Citizen Hall from the 14th to the 16th, undergo Dreamter counseling and type-specific interviews, and submit the final application by the 16th.


The selection results will be posted on the 23rd on the Gwangju City website’s notices and announcements, the Gwangju Youth Policy Platform, and the Gwangju Youth Work Experience Dream website.


The selected Dream Youth will gain work experience for 25 hours per week over five months from March to July at workplaces of five types: public institution type, corporate type, social welfare type, social value type, and youth start-up company type.


The salary for work experience labor will be paid at the Gwangju City living wage level.
