Contract Signed for Shipbuilding with a European Shipping Company
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] K Shipbuilding has signed a shipbuilding contract for two 50,000-ton eco-friendly petrochemical product carriers with a European shipping company.
The ships contracted on the 31st of last month will be built with LNG fuel propulsion and Scrubber Ready systems, applying the International Maritime Organization (IMO) environmental regulations that will be strengthened from 2025, and are eco-friendly vessels that satisfy the EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) Phase 3 standard.

K Shipbuilding, which succeeded in its first order of the year, actively responded to the global demand for eco-friendly ships in preparation for the IMO environmental regulations, and secured the contract based on its extensive shipbuilding experience and delivery record of medium-sized petrochemical product carriers.
A K Shipbuilding official said, “Based on the first eco-friendly ship contract of the year, all K Shipbuilding employees will unite their efforts to ensure timely delivery and achieve the order goals.”
