Goals for Establishing Care Research and Field Guidelines
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Senior Research Institute (CEO Lee Jin-yeol) announced on the 2nd that it has established the 'Care Innovation Center' to advance the home care industry. The Care Innovation Center is an affiliated research institute within the Korea Senior Research Institute. It aims to conduct research on care and establish guidelines for participants in the home care market. To this end, it introduced the 'Team Care' system, composed of experts from various fields who provide professional knowledge and skills to care service providers. The team consists of specialized personnel such as on-site occupational therapists, physical therapists, health exercise managers, nurses, and speech therapists.
Along with the opening of the Care Innovation Center, the Korea Senior Research Institute appointed Executive Director Lim Ki-jun as the head of the center. Executive Director Lim has worked as a domestic and international care and healthcare expert for about 20 years since the pilot project of the Long-Term Care Insurance system for the elderly. He stated, "We will strive to research, develop, and disseminate advanced cases to provide a high-quality care environment and care technology that meet the needs of long-term care grade recipients."
The Care Innovation Center plans to strengthen its business capabilities by closely linking with the major projects of the Korea Senior Research Institute. First, it will provide practical care guidelines that can be applied in the field. To innovate care technology and infrastructure for participants in the home care market, partnerships will be formed not only with the government but also with leading care institutions and companies in Japan. Lee Jin-yeol, CEO of the Korea Senior Research Institute, said, "The Care Innovation Center will be the DNA of the various projects carried out by the Korea Senior Research Institute," adding, "We expect it to play a pivotal role in developing and seeking advancement in the direction, new definitions, and domains of the Korean care industry."
